WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- A former Department of State official was sentenced on Wednesday to 32 months imprisonment for secretly filming hundreds of women in Washington D.C., some who were bathing and having sex.
Daniel Rosen, 45, faced up to 11 years in prison for filming at least 25 women undressing, bathing, grooming and having intercourse between 2010 and 2014, The Washington Post reported. He struck a plea with prosecutors in July, pleading guilty to 11 misdemeanor counts of stalking and voyeurism.
Rosen, who worked as a director of counterterrorism at the State Department, was first arrested in February after making plans to meet with a detective posing as a 14-year-old girl in Fairfax County. Police discovered nude photos of women on his phone and 40 videos of women, which were handed over to Washington, D.C., police.
"Each of us has a right to privacy in our homes," D.C. Superior Court Judge Rhonda Reid Winston said during sentencing. "You've robbed each of them of a sense of security."

Prosecutors said Rosen would leave his home in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood at night to film women, pretending to walk his dog. None of the woman knew she was being filmed and Rosen often returned to film the same women multiple times.
"The defendant was incredibly successful in his criminal pursuits," Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea L. Hertzfeld wrote in a sentencing memorandum. "He captured his victims in their most intimate and private moments in their bedrooms and bathrooms."
Rosen is scheduled to stand trial on the solicitation charge in Fairfax County in January.
