MIAMI, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Tropical Depression Four strengthened into Tropical Storm Danny on Tuesday and is forecast to become the first hurricane of the season later this week, weather officials said.
The storm, which was situated 1,595 miles east of the Windward Islands in the Caribbean, was moving slowly, about 12 mph west-northwestward, with maximum sustained winds of about 40 mph.
