STEPHENVILLE, Texas, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A jury was seated Monday in the murder trial of Eddie Ray Routh, the man accused of killing American Sniper Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield.

Ten women and two men were chosen from a pool of hundreds of potential jurors to sit on the jury at Erath County courthouse in Stephenville.

It took three days to question 135 jurors and seat the jury. Opening arguments are scheduled to take place Wednesday.

Routh, 27, is expected to plead not guilty by reason of insanity to the Feb. 2, 2013, shooting deaths of Kyle and Littlefield at a shooting range about 70 miles south of Fort Worth. Testimony will likely include evidence Routh suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Potential jurors were questioned if they understood the legal definition of insanity.

Kyle was a Navy SEAL whose life was depicted in the Clint Eastwood biopic American Sniper. Bradley Cooper portrayed Kyle on the big screen.

The judge in Routh's trial said the case's publicity didn't impede the lawyer's attempts to seat a jury.
