'American Sniper' holds at No. 1 for a third weekend

Starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, the blockbuster is up for six Academy Awards, including the Oscar for Best Picture.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- American Sniper is No. 1 at the North American box office for a third weekend, earning an additional $31.9 million, Rentrak announced Sunday.

Starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, the Chris Kyle biopic is up for six Academy Awards, including the Oscar for Best Picture.

Coming in at No. 2 is Paddington with $8.505 million, followed by Project Almanac at No. 3 with $8.5 million, Black or White at No. 4 with $6.5 million and The Boy Next Door at No. 5 with $6.1 million.

Rounding out the top tier are The Wedding Ringer at No. 6 with $5.7 million, The Imitation Game at No. 7 with $5.2 million, Taken 3 at No. 8 with $3.7 million, Strange Magic at No. 9 with $3.4 million and The Loft at No. 10 with $2.9 million.
