DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad was hospitalized Monday after he collapsed during an event in Johnston, an aide said.
Branstad was transported to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines following the fall.

Branstad was touring the DuPont Pioneer facility when he fell ill. A reporter with the Des Moines Register asked Branstad if he had the flu earlier during the event.
"I have a bad cold, and so does the lieutenant governor, and we are not alone," the governor said.
Jimmy Centers, Branstad's communications director, said the governor was "conscious and alert during the transport to the hospital."
