Camouflage ice cream celebrates vets; BR to donate to USO

The ice cream company will cap its month-long tribute to veterans by donating 10 cents for every scoop sold in the U.S. on Veterans Day to the United Service Organizations (USO).

CANTON, Mass., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Just in time for Veterans Day: Baskin-Robbins has rolled out Camouflage ice cream as a flavor of the month to celebrate America's warriors.

The ice cream company will cap its month-long tribute to vets by donating 10 cents for every scoop sold in the U.S. on Veterans Day to the United Service Organizations (USO).

First Class Camouflage features a combination of chocolate, salty caramel, and green vanilla cake-flavored ice cream. The company unveiled the special flavor on its Facebook page.

It's available in several variations, including a camo-colored waffle cone or bowl. Its also offered as a layered camouflage sundae, which includes cookie pieces, caramel praline topping, hot fudge and is topped off with whipped cream.

Bill Mitchell, President, Baskin-Robbins U.S. and Canada who served in the U.S. Army, said the new flavor is a fun way to pay tribute to the troops.

"We're excited to honor our military service members and veterans this November through our long-standing partnership with the USO, and hope our guests will join our efforts in supporting the USO on Veterans Day when we will make a donation for every scoop of ice cream sold in our U.S. restaurants to the organization," said Mitchell, who served in the U.S. Army
