JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Thirty toddlers are OK after they were given bleach-laced water at a Jersey City, N.J., day care.
According to WPIX, giving the toddlers the bleach was an accident.
All of the kids were taken to Jersey City Medical Center to be checked out.
Jersey City Medical Center Dr. Michael Bessette said "The report we were given is that a cleaning solution was made up at the day care yesterday with a small amount of bleach mixed into a bottle of water. Unfortunately, it was not labeled and somebody thought it was regular water and served some small Dixie cups of this solution to the children at the day care."
Luckily, the concentration of bleach in the water was very low.
According to the hospital, it was just a terrible accident by a worker who was just hours into her first day at the day care.
KPIX reported that the day care worker has been fired.
