FBI joins search for missing Washington State girl

BREMERTON, Wash., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- The FBI has joined the search for a missing 6-year-old Washington State girl, authorities said Tuesday.

Jenise Wright's parents said they last saw her when she went to bed at about 10 p.m. Saturday night. They said they did not report her disappearance to police until almost 24 hours later because she had a habit of wandering off to play in the neighborhood in Bremerton.

Scott Wilson, a spokesman for the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, said 112 people from 10 local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are now involved in the investigation. They include an FBI child abduction rapid deployment team.

"We have a lot of agencies, personnel and volunteers employed to find this child and we are doing everything within our realm of possibility to make this happen," Wilson said. "We're all praying that she is found well."

Jenise's parents, James and Denise Wright, agreed to polygraph tests Monday, Wilson said. He would not release any details about the findings.

Two older children, a brother and sister, are now in the care of Child Protective Services. Another brother, 16, was staying with relatives when Jenise vanished.
