ORANGE PARK, Fla., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A teenage girl in Florida accused of lighting a tortoise on fire last month now faces charges for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Jennifer Greene, 18, was arrested Wednesday by the Clay County Sheriff's Office for alleged sexual activity with a boy whose age wasn't reported. Greene was 17 at the time the incident allegedly occurred, on June 19.
She was charged as a juvenile for lewd and lascivious battery and was being held on $50,000 bond.
Greene was also charged with animal cruelty after she and a friend posted a video of themselves allegedly torturing and killing a small gopher tortoise, a rare and threatened species in South Florida.
Should she be convicted on the animal cruelty charge, Green faces five years in prison.
