WASHINGTON, May 23 (UPI) -- Rightwing pundit Ann Coulter defended Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak's tweet on climate change and suggested those who disagree with liberals are being trashed.

In an interview Thursday on CNN, Coulter said "climate change deniers" are being equated with those who deny the reality of the Holocaust.

"You are calling half of the American people, who weirdly enough don't believe in the apocalyptic predictions that keep not coming true, equivalent to Holocaust deniers? That's how the debate perceives them in America."

Coulter mocked "scientists based in Hollywood" like Leonardo DiCaprio. She said the solar panels on his house were carried up a mountain by "hundreds of trucks using fossil fuels."

Sajak tweeted Tuesday that people who argue global warming is being caused by human activity are "racists" and "unpatriotic." He said a day later he had engaged in parody.

Coulter in her comments took up the racism theme, suggesting that rich white liberals are hurting the poor by arguing for cutbacks on the use of fossil fuel.

"We all have to believe in global warming, we all have to believe in immigration -- either lots of immigration or even more immigration," Coulter said. "We have to believe that Trayvon Martin was killed by a brutal racists, and if you don't you get called all of these crazy names that Sajak is referring to."
