Obama touts 7 million signups for ACA [WATCH LIVE]

Ahead of the midnight deadline Monday, the White House said it had reached the goal of 7 million enrollees on Healthcare.gov.

WASHINGTON, April 1 (UPI) -- Despite last-minute glitches that took the federal healthcare exchanges offline, the White House says more than 7 million people signed up for coverage on the individual market before Monday night's deadline.

President Obama will speak on the state of the exchanges and tout the success of the Affordable Care Act in a speech from the White House at 4:15 p.m.
