MURFREESBORO, Tenn., March 20 (UPI) -- A woman claimed she was fired from a Murfreesboro, Tenn., restaurant because of "tension" after nude photos of her were passed among supervisors and coworkers.
In her lawsuit, Jennifer Madonia said she complained to her supervisors at Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack when the photos surfaced only to learn they "were passing the images around among themselves," Courthouse News Service reported Thursday.
"Plaintiff was told there would be an investigation, but instead plaintiff's hours were cut back and there was no investigation," the complaint said. "When plaintiff complained about plaintiff's hours being cut back, and asked about the progress of the investigation, plaintiffs supervisor Michael Ann Hassel told plaintiff there was too much tension in the workplace, and fired plaintiff."
Madonia said she worked at the restaurant for less than a month when a co-worker "obtained explicit nude images of plaintiff and displayed them to plaintiff's co-workers and supervisors in a malicious attempt to harass plaintiff."
Madonia sued Uncle Bud's of Murfreesboro and its affiliate, doing business as Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack, in federal court, CNS said. She also sued Craig Dever and Jay Smith, who did business as Uncle Bud's in Rutherford County. The company said they were no longer employees.
The Uncle Bud's outlet where Madonia worked closed in September 2013, company officials said.
Madonia is seeking back pay and punitive damages.
