WASHINGTON, March 17 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama Monday meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the White House, the daily schedule indicates.

Obama and Abbas are set to discuss strengthening institutions to establish a Palestinian state and the progress of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

The daily schedule also indicates Obama will:

-- Lunch with Abbas in the Cabinet Room.

-- Visit Walter Reed National Military Hospital to meet injured members of the military and their families.
