BATON ROUGE, La., March 3 (UPI) -- A Louisiana pastor was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of aggravated rape after a 20-year-old, mentally-disabled woman told police that they had sex against her will on a number of occasions because her father insisted.

The girl, whose name is being withheld, has the "the mental capacity of a 7-year-old.”

The 43-year-old pastor allegedly had sex with the girl because his own wife is ill and often confined to bed. According to the warrant, Lemley told detectives he never had sex with the girl and she has a penchant for "making up stories."

A warrant for Lemley’s arrest was issued when he didn’t show up for a scheduled polygraph test in December. The girl’s father was arrested in November and remains behind bars on a number of sex counts, including aggravated rape.

“It’s false charges,” Kim Lemley, the pastor’s wife, told the Advocate. “Our church is taking care of itself.”
