Report: New company to be given contract for HealthCare.gov site

WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The Obama administration plans to sign a new company to replace CGI Federal, which designed the troubled HealthCare.gov, an official tells the Washington Post.

The Post reported Friday that the 12-month contract with Accenture, which created California's successful healthcare exchange, is expected to be signed next week. Neither CGI nor Accenture would comment.

"We are in discussions with potential clients all the time but it is not appropriate to discuss with the media contracts we may or may not be discussing," an Accenture spokeswoman, Joanne Veto, told the Post.

Officials said the administration has become frustrated with CGI's work on fixing HealthCare.gov's problems. The troubled website caused major problems for the implementation of President Obama's affordable healthcare plan.
