Hunter finds woman's body in suitcase in South Jersey

MAYS LANDING, N.J., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A body in a suitcase found by a hunter in a wooded area in South Jersey has been identified as a woman reported missing in October, police said Tuesday.

Investigators said Tara Rogers-Alicea, 30, was strangled, the Press of Atlantic City reported.

The body was discovered Sunday by a Margate, N.J., police sergeant who was hunting on private land in Egg Harbor Township near Atlantic City, police said. Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said tattoos and fingerprints were used to identify Rogers-Alicea.

Rogers-Alicea lived in Monroeville, about 50 miles west of Atlantic City. But the Press said her Facebook postings showed visits to the gambling resort. In June, she posted that she was staying at the Water Club at the Borgata Casino and in July a photo appears to show her at a casino.
