Shooting suspect in standoff with police in Fort Worth, Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A man suspected of shooting another man was in a standoff with police in Fort Worth, Texas, Sunday night, authorities said.

Police had surrounded a house where the suspect had barricaded himself alone, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The standoff started after officers responded to a call shortly after 3 p.m. local time of a man being shot about a block away from the house, the newspaper said.

Police spokeswoman Sharron Neal said the wounded man was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
