Alpharetta police said an officer responding to a tip went to Schmitt's home Friday. He found the twins asleep and no one else in the house.

Schmitt allegedly told police she had given a neighbor a baby monitor and asked her to check on the toddlers, but the neighbor denied having a monitor.

"She also stated that she does this periodically and sees nothing wrong with this practice," the police report said.
