It was not clear where the plane had departed from.

The sheriff's office said the pointing of lasers at airplanes is an ongoing problem.

Use of a green laser on someone operating a motor vehicle, vessel or aircraft that results in bodily injury is a second-degree felony. The charge could be raised to a first-degree felony if the use caused a plane to crash.
