Couple ask court to stop neighbor's cameras from recording them

KEMAH, Texas, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A Kemah, Texas, couple say they are seeking a restraining order against a neighbor who allegedly has security cameras pointed at their bedroom.

The original petition by Scott and Terri Gale claims Natalie Belk, who lives across the street, has recorded their movements inside and outside their home, and has reported them to police for no valid reason. Their supporting affidavit, filed in November in Galveston, says Belk's security cameras, installed in 2012, are pointed directly at the balcony of the master bedroom of the Gales' home.

The Gales' lawsuit also says Belk called police on them or on other neighbors 11 times in 2011 and 2012, after Terri Gale became involved in local politics, that police have responded to the Gales' home 20 to 40 times and that one of Belk's sons has used his cellphone to photograph Scott Gale every time he is outdoors.

The couple seek a restraining order and unspecified damages, the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday.
