PARSONS, Kan., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Police in Kansas said they arrested a man wanted in connection with the slayings of a 29-year-old woman and her three children.

Montgomery County Sheriff's officials said Tuesday they arrested David Cornell Bennett Jr., 22, after a daylong manhunt.

No formal charges were filed against Bennett of Cherryvale, a statement from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said. Investigators haven't said what Bennett's relationship with the family was or how they believe he was involved in their deaths, The Wichita Eagle reported.

Cami Umbarger and her children -- Hollie, 9, Jaxon, 6, and Averie, 4 -- were found dead Monday in their Parsons, Kan., home after the woman's co-workers told police she didn't show up for her job as a nurse, the newspaper said.

Beth Umbarger said her sister and Bennett "went out a few times" but "broke it off" after Bennett "started acting pretty scary toward my sister."

"She'd been trying to stay away from him and he just kept coming back and going back," Beth Umbarger said. "She was just hoping that he would leave her alone ... and she would be able to move past it."
