The 3.3-magnitude quake rattled windows in the area, locals said.

"It sounded like it came from the north side of the house," said Elsie Ann Plaunty, administrative assistant to the Azle police chief and Azle resident. "It was just a little bit of shaking."

Before Monday, a 2.9 magnitude earthquake hit 2 miles southwest of Reno, Texas, on Saturday.

The most powerful recent quake, which had a magnitude of 3.6, shook Azle on Nov. 19.
