SUV driver crashes into East Los Angeles bus stop, flees on foot

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Los Angeles were looking for the driver of an SUV who hit at least two pedestrians at a bus stop Wednesday and then fled on foot.

The white sport utility vehicle, possibly a GMC Yukon, crashed through the bus stop partition near Whittier and Atlantic boulevards at about 5:20 p.m., KNBC-TV, Los Angeles, reported.

The driver was described as a Latino man in his 20s. He was last seen running north on Atlantic Boulevard while carrying a 6- to 8-year-old child, the California Highway Patrol told the TV station.

Two injured pedestrians were taken to County USC Medical Center.
