ATLANTA, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- An Atlanta pimp has been sentenced to life in prison for imprisoning a teenage girl and forcing her into prostitution, prosecutors say.
Dwayne Shaw, 34, had been convicted of multiple charges involving the 15-year-old girl, including human trafficking, pimping, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, statutory rape and false imprisonment, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday.
Shaw and the teenager met online and then met in person in November, said prosecutors with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office.
He lured her into prostitution, setting up appointments for her to meet men at hotels, then kept the money, prosecutors said. Shaw also raped her at his home in Atlanta, where he kept her barricaded in the attic.
Police said they were able to track her down after four days after she texted family and friends.
