LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A 29-year-old woman from Louisville, Ky., has been accused of killing her newborn and leaving the body in a Kohl's store trash can.
The baby's body was found in a trash can on Aug. 8 at the Kohl's store, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal reported.
The investigation into the baby's death led police to Jessica D. Price, who admitted to police she had given birth to the baby inside the store, then tried to conceal the body and other evidence of the birth in the trash, a police report said.
Police suspect the baby died of "an intentional act," the report said.
"The suspect took actions (after the birth) which resulted in the child's death," the report said.
Price was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Thursday.
