Florida woman jailed for leaving infant in car while she went to a bar

OCALA, Fla., June 11 (UPI) -- A Florida woman was charged with child neglect for leaving her 1-month-old infant in a hot car while she went to a local bar, police in Ocala, Fla. said.

Britney Jean Rohdy, 22, said her baby was alone for only five minutes but witnesses told police Rohdy spent nearly 45 minutes inside the bar, the police department news said.

The infant, who was not injured, was placed with a relative while Rohdy was jailed on one count of child neglect and one count of possession of a narcotic. Police said she had Oxycodone without a prescription.
