The Davis County Attorney's Office said Friday it was considering possible charges for the elder boy.

Their father, who spoke to KSL-TV, Salt Lake City, under condition his first name would not be used, said, "We never imagined something like this could happen. I understand there must be justice but life without parole would be way too harsh for a 15-year-old with no previous criminal history."

The father said he hopes the case can be handled through the juvenile justice system, so he can be helped with any mental health issues he may be having.
