Plea bargain offer made to Florida teen arrested for lewd behavior

SEBASTIAN, Fla., May 20 (UPI) -- A female Florida high school student, accused of lewd behavior with an underage female, has been offered a plea deal, authorities said Monday.

Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, was arrested in February and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior toward her unidentified girlfriend, 14, a fellow student at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, Fla. A court affidavit referred to kissing and inappropriate touching in a school restroom, the news website TCPalm.com said Monday.

The teens had a sexual relationship on multiple occasions, the affidavit said.

The state has offered Hunt and her family a plea deal, involving two years of house arrest and one year of probation, instead of jail. They have until Friday to decide, WPTV-TV, West Palm Beach, Fla., reported Monday.

Hunt's mother, however, is working to end the case, with a "Free Kaitlyn" Facebook page attracting 14,000 members, and an online petition, requesting charges be dropped, with 40,000 signatures, WPTV-TV said.
