Man allegedly goes on rampage with bulldozer

PORT ANGELES, Wash., May 11 (UPI) -- Police in Washington state said a man went berserk and allegedly used a bulldozer to flatten his neighbor's house and several other structures.

Barry Swegle, 51, of Port Angeles had apparently gotten into an argument with one of his neighbors, though police didn't say what it was about or when the dispute originated. The motive notwithstanding, police allege Friday afternoon Swegle used an International Harvester TD-25 and plowed through a neighboring home, pushing it off its foundation and 50 feet into another home, the Los Angeles Times said. In the process, the bulldozer ran over the cab of a pickup, totaling the truck.

No injuries were reported.

In total, three homes, a truck and a garage were damaged. Only one person was home at the time, a woman in the house that sustained the least damage who was able to escape unharmed.

Utility company officials said Swegle snapped a power line causing a blackout that led to a temporary blackout for some customers.

Police charged Swegle with malicious mischief.
