SEAL killed in parachute accident ID'd

MARANA, Ariz., March 30 (UPI) -- A Navy SEAL killed while taking part in parachute training in Arizona has been identified by the Navy as Special Warfare Operator Chief Brett D. Shadle.

Shadle, a 31-year-old Elizabethville, Pa., native who was a member of a Naval Special Warfare unit based on the East Coast, was one of two SEALs involved in the Thursday training accident near Pinal Airpark in Marana, Ariz., the Navy said in a release posted on its website.

The other SEAL member, who was not identified, was hospitalized in stable condition.

The accident was under investigation.
