FARGO, N.D., March 5 (UPI) -- Christie Prody, a former girlfriend of O.J. Simpson, pleaded guilty to a robbery charge in Cass County, N.D., District Court.

Prody of Moorhead, Minn., was sentenced to 2 years' probation and a 4-year suspended term for attempting to steal a woman's purse, a Class B felony, at a shopping mall in November.

In court Prody entered an Alford plea, in which the defendant acknowledges sufficient evidence exists to find guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, the Fargo (N.D.) Forum reported Tuesday.

She and Simpson met and entered into a 13-year relationship in 1996 after he was acquitted of killing his wife and a friend, the newspaper noted.
