NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- A United Airlines plane blew several tires while landing at the Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey, causing it to veer off the runway, officials said.

None of the 13 people aboard the plane was injured.

Investigators were trying to determine what caused the tires to blow on United Express Flight 4480 from Rochester, N.Y., about 8:24 p.m. Sunday The (Newark) Star-Ledger reported.

The plane swerved off the runway before coming to a halt, said Ron Marsico, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
