OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- An Oklahoma medical examiner was fired in 2010 over sexual harassment allegations, court documents in his lawsuit reveal.
A state board gave Dr. Collie M. Trant, 64, the boot from his $235,000-a-year position as Oklahoma's chief medical examiner after allegedly telling a female subordinate she should buy something from a Victoria's Secret lingerie store and model it.
Trant acknowledged the exchange, but said he and the woman laughed because it was a joke.
The woman no longer works in the medical examiner's office, The (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman said Monday.
Another female employee said Trant used to speak openly about sexual dreams he had for his sister-in-law. Trant denied the accusation, saying he'd spoken about strange dreams -- not sexual ones -- he'd had while taking the sleep medication Ambien.
The allegations came to light only after Trant sued the state for wrongful termination. A federal judge threw out most of Trant's lawsuit, but Trant's lawyer said he intends to keep pursuing the case.
