Diners called 'Fat Girls' on receipt

STOCKTON, Calif., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Three women said they were insulted when they were given a receipt with the words "Fat Girls" printed at the top after dining at a Stockton, Calif., restaurant.

Customer Christine Duran said she was dining with two friends Thursday at Chilly D's Sports Lounge restaurant, part of the Cameo Club Casino, when they were given the offensive receipt, ABC News reported Sunday.

"I got the bill. I was looking at [the] bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say "Fat Girls?"'" she said.

The bill, which lists a bartender named "Jeff" as the group's server, apparently listed the table as "Fat Girls" as a way to keep track of the bill, ABC News reported.

Duran said she asked to speak to the manager, who "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh."

The manager offered the women a 25 percent discount and then a 50 percent discount, both of which they declined.

Cameo Club Casino owner Maggie Lewis, posted a message on Facebook, saying the treatment the women received was "intolerable in our establishment."

Jimmy Siemers, co-owner of Chilly D's, said he is trying to make amends for the insult.

"I just want to tell them we're sincerely sorry and we'll do everything in our power to make sure this never happens to anyone again," he said.
