Dugas slaying suspects charged in Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- The identical twins previously charged in Georgia with killing journalist Sean Dugas have been charged in a Florida murder and armed robbery, police said.

Pensacola police said Friday Christopher and William Cormier, both 31, will be extradited to Florida from Georgia, where they were charged this month with killing Dugas and then burying his body in the back yard of their father's home in Winder, Ga., in a plastic container encased in concrete.

Dugas, who formerly worked as a reporter for the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal, had not been seen since Aug. 27 and was reported missing Sept. 13.

Investigators believe the suspects were guests at Dugas' home in Florida and that William Cormier killed Dugas and stole some collectible "Magic: The Gathering" game cards, which he allegedly then sold in Pensacola, Georgia and Tennessee, the News Journal reported.

Police said William Cormier drove to Walmart after killing Dugas and bought supplies used to dispose of the body. Assistant State Attorney John Molchan said Christopher Cormier was involved after the fact, the newspaper reported.

William Cormier is charged in Escambia County with first-degree murder and armed robbery. Christopher Cormier is charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
