FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts woman admits having a fight with her teenage daughter about her cellphone but denies physically assaulting her.

Solimar Cruz, 29, of Framingham told the Boston Herald her 13-year-old daughter was out of control. Cruz was arrested Saturday.

"She didn't want to give me the phone. She was trying to hide something on the phone. She acted like a maniac when I tried taking the phone away. She acted like a complete maniac," Cruz said.

The daughter said Cruz threw glass objects at her that almost struck her, slapped her repeatedly in the face and tried to strangle her.

Cruz was arrested after her daughter filed a police complaint. She was released on her own recognizance Monday after a court appearance.
