Memphis student robbed in dorm room

MEMPHIS, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Students at the University of Memphis were put on alert by campus police after an armed robbery in one of the school's dormitories, officials said.

A student said he returned to his dorm room Tuesday afternoon to find two black males, one armed with a silver handgun. The robbers demanded undisclosed property and fled the scene, the (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported.

Students were notified of the incident by text message and urged to use "caution" on campus.

Police have not made any arrests in the case.
