ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Kodiak Island region of Alaska Tuesday, U.S. scientists said.
The quake hit at a depth of about 5.6 miles off Akhiok, Alaska, about 333 miles south-southwest of Anchorage Alaska, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

There were no initial reports of damages or injuries.
