Mom convicted of sexually assaulting teen

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A California woman was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy who played hockey with her son.

Kathia Maria Davis, 45, was convicted Thursday for sexually assaulting the underage teen on four occasions after giving him alcohol, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Prosecutors said the incidents, which took place between July 2010 and July 31, 2011, came to light after the victim told his mother, who then alerted police.

Davis was also accused of sexually assaulting another underage teenager at her home, but the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on those charges.

Davis faces up to five years in prison for the conviction. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
