CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Democratic National Convention Committee released a mobile app Tuesday for convention delegates and those who want to follow the proceedings.

The convention will be held in Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 4-6. President Obama is to give his acceptance speech on gathering's final day at the Bank of America Stadium.

The app, the convention's first, can be downloaded at the DNCC Web site.

"With the launch of this mobile app, Democrats are taking another step in making this the most open and accessible convention in history," said Steve Kerrigan, the committee's chief executive officer. "Whether you're joining us in person for the convention in Charlotte, or engaging virtually from anywhere in the country, there's something for everyone in this app. From live-streaming convention speeches to finding a great restaurant in the Queen City this app puts the 2012 Democratic National Convention at your fingertips."
