MCDONALD, Pa., July 30 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man was arrested after allegedly choking his wife over an argument about a chat room she was visiting, police said.
Scott Edward Samstag, 39, was arrested Friday night and charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and harassment, the Washington (Pa.) Observer-Reporter reported.
Police said they responded to the home after 911 dispatchers received a hang-up call. When officers arrived, they found Christina Samstag on the side of the road.
Christina Samstag told police she and her husband got into an argument over a chat room she used. Scott Samstag got very angry and began choking her with his hand to the point that she became dazed and almost passed out, police said.
The woman fell to the floor and her husband got on top of her and used a bar from a metal TV snack tray to further choke his wife, police said.
Scott Samstag was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
