The Indianapolis Star said another parent in Fishers was arrested after her 16-month-old daughter was found in a similar situation at a shopping center. Police broke out a window to get the child out, but she suffered a seizure en route to a hospital and was admitted in critical condition.

The child's mother had been shopping for about an hour while the temperature inside the vehicle topped 120 degrees, police told the newspaper. Officers said the 30-year-old woman did not appear to be fully coherent.
