Human torso shipped to BJ's

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., April 24 (UPI) -- A human torso was sent to a BJ's Wholesale Club office in Massachusetts instead of a Florida medical research facility due to a labeling error, officials said.

Police in Westborough, in western Massachusetts, said employees at the corporate BJ's office received the package containing a dismembered woman's torso on Friday, the New York Daily News reported.

The package had been sent from New Jersey. It was supposed to have gone to a medical research facility in Florida but was mislabeled, the MetroWest Daily News reported.

The employees didn't open the box, Sgt. Glenn McLeod said.

"They saw it was medical research and they knew it was not for them," McLeod said.

Officials at the BJ's office and the medical facility arranged to have the torso shipped to Florida.
