Rare tornado causes damage in Calif.

STOCKTON, Calif., April 12 (UPI) -- The National Weather Service said a rare tornado that touched down near Stockton, Calif., knocked down power lines and damaged one building.

The EF1 category twister, which hit about 1 p.m. Wednesday, was the first in San Joaquin County since 2005, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The tornado also flipped a trailer and destroyed a workshop for classic cars, ripping the sheet metal from the roof, the newspaper said.
