UPPER CHICHESTER, Pa., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- A Philadelphia-area woman was charged with statutory rape of a minor after her son reported her having sex with his 15-year-old friend, court documents say.
Terri Mezzatesta of Upper Chichester Township claimed she passed out after drinking and awoke to discover the boy engaged in sex with her, police said.
Her son says it was consensual, and after later finding sexual text messages between the two on a cellphone he had loaned his friend, reported the incident to school officials, court documents indicate. The police were then called to investigate.
Police said they learned in interviews with the alleged victim that Mezzatesta smoked marijuana with the two boys, after which her son passed out in a bedroom.
She and the friend later drank wine coolers and watched television, and when the son awoke he found them on the couch engaged in sex, the police report said.
Mezzatesta, 34, was arraigned Tuesday on counts of statutory sexual assault, corruption of minor and related charges.
