KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- A former Kansas City Catholic priest is being sued for allegedly sexually abusing four boys from the same family, the lawsuit said.
John Tulipana was serving at St. Catherine of Siena Church up until the mid-1990s, when he left the ministry. While he was still serving, he allegedly sexually abused four boys during camping trips and at the family's home, beginning in 1976, the suit alleged.
The Kansas City (Mo.) Star could not reach Tulipana for comment Wednesday.
In the early 1990s, the diocese said it sent Tulipana for psychological evaluations twice, noting that after both times, he returned to the ministry. The diocese also confirmed it had settled similar complaints against Tulipana twice before, even after Tulipana continued to deny the allegations.
