1 dead, 1 wounded at Virginia Walmart facility

DINWIDDIE, Va., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A shooting at a Walmart distribution center in Virginia Wednesday left a woman wounded and the shooter dead by his own hand, authorities said.

Dinwiddie County Sheriff D.T. "Duck" Adams said a 40-year-old woman was shot in the leg inside the facility, and a 32-year-old man took his own life after opening fire on deputies outside, WTVR-TV, Richmond, reported.

Adams said he believed the woman's injuries were non-life threatening.

He said she was a manager in the distribution center's shipping department and the shooter had worked for her.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported the shooting occurred shortly after noon in Dinwiddie County.
