Police: Man killed for $1.25

MIAMI, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Miami police say a 53-year-old man shot to death last week was killed over the $1.25 he had in his back pocket.

The Miami Herald reports Hector Vichot was killed Dec. 15 while walking to his night shift job at Walmart. Before he died, he told police he was attacked by two young men who shot him in the back and robbed him.

"He posed no threat to them," Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said. "They cowardly shot a man in the back as he was running away."
