SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- An Arizona auction house specializing in celebrity cars will put the hearse that carried President Kennedy in Dallas in 1963 up for bid, company officials said.

The vehicle that transported the assassinated president is to be for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale Saturday, The Arizona Republic reported.

The hearse carried John F. Kennedy from Parkland Memorial Hospital to Air Force One at Love Field. It was bid up to $900,000 in an earlier online auction but did not meet the seller's base price.

Specialty and collector car auctions are a highlight of the January calendar in Arizona. The Bonhams' auction in Phoenix this week included actress Marlene Dietrich's 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I convertible and a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow owned by artist Andy Warhol.

Dietrich's car sold for $524,000 Thursday, a Bonhams spokesman said.
