CHICAGO, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- A major glitch in an Iowa couple's weekend wedding was averted Saturday when Chicago police recovered their stolen car with the bride's dress in the trunk.
Patrol officers intercepted the missing vehicle in West Garfield Park early Saturday and found the gown safe and sound in the trunk.

The car and the dress were returned in time for the unnamed couple's ceremony later in the day.
The Chicago Tribune said the car was stolen Thursday. The officers became suspicious when they noticed the car had a hard-plastic replacement window, which often is a sign that it had been broken into.
The man driving the car at the time was placed under arrest.
